Ladies,

Here are additional photos from the Holiday Party. Many thanks to Susan Bennett and Laura Carman for their photography skills. By the way, I forgot to mention that LVGC's bank account is now $965 richer due to everyone participating in the day's festivities. Amazing!

Also, I've placed our lighted holiday wreaths and twinkle lights in the beds at Marconi, Spanish Fort and Beauregard. Just like last year, there are a few electrical issues to deal with but hopefully they'll be resolved soon. Sometimes they're on, sometimes they're off!

Once again, the Garden Club's Holiday Party was a huge success thanks to Head Hostess Charlene Baudier and her wonderful working women - Brenda Moffitt, JoAnn Stevens, Anne Mc Sweeney, Susan Mc Ardle, Joel Schultis and Liz Devine. Delicious food and champagne cocktails were enjoyed by all as members enjoyed visiting in Lea Miller's beautiful new home.

As always, Joan Farabaugh did an unbelievable job with soliciting and coordinating the numerous raffle and silent auction items. A special golf package as well as gift certificates to spas, dry cleaners, car washes, grocers and restaurants were just a few of the great deals that our members were able to choose from for their raffle choices. Many thanks go out to Jackie Palumbo for Earthsavers treats, and to Susan Mc Ardle and Sandra Devia for their generous donations of beautiful custom jewelry.

Looking ahead, our Door & Decorations Contest is coming up soon on Wednesday, December 15th.

Happy Holidays to Everyone! I will send out more photos of today's party as I receive them.
Joni

November Meeting

Hi Ladies,

With a balcony banner reading "WELCOME LAKE VISTA GARDEN CLUB," our meeting at Gloria Moore's home was off to a great start! Speaker Mary Lou Widmer entertained us all discussing her book and it's connection to the history of New Orleans. Gloria and her hard working committee comprised of Petra Junius, Melissa Adolph, Chrissy Bourdais and Louise Kirchberg served a delicious Southern-style meal, setting the bar high for the next luncheon committee. As you can see in the attached photos, Cara Dessens' floral displays were seasonably perfect! Karen Smith's report on those cute little hummingbirds was very entertaining as well as educational.

October Garden of the Month Winner

Our Garden Club GOM committee (Ros Wingerter, Joel Myers, Vonni Contreary and Liz Leonard) is doing a wonderful job this year as they travel the streets of Lake Vista searching for the best and most striking gardens in our neighborhood.
Thanks, Team GOM!

For October, the Garden of the Month was awarded to Liz and Rene deBoisblanc.

October Garden Club Meeting

Hi Ladies -

Wow! What a gorgeous day for an outdoor meeting at Pam Ortiz's lovely home. We had an awesome turnout today as you can see from the photos taken by Laura Carman. Everyone enjoyed the great luncheon prepared by Kimberly Zibilich and her team consisting of Karen Smith, Heather Mayfield, and Michele Bravo. Kerrie deVay's floral arrangement perfectly accented the decor in the dining room. Once again, our anniversary cake looked and tasted devine thanks to Yvonne McCulla.

Sallie Walker did an outstanding job researching and presenting the past Presidents' reports - every President had such special memories of their term in office. Sallie's report will be an asset to our archives.

Grant Estrade from Laughing Buddha Nursery was very informative regarding many aspects of organic gardening. If you would like to learn more information concerning this topic, Grant would be happy to help you. His contact information is: 4516 Clearview Pkwy., Metairie, 1 block off W. Esplanade. 887-4336. www.laughingbuddhanursery.com.

Please stop by NOMA this week to check out the beautiful flower arrangements in the Great Hall urns. Our flower team did a spectacular job - many thanks to Alice Lowry, Lisa Lachin, Liz deBoisblanc, Renee' Lehon and Suzanne Tyler. The colors truly compliment the Hall's current artwork on display. Great job, ladies!

For those of you who missed last Friday's meeting, we had a lovely time at Faith's fabulous home. Faith and the Hostess Team members Charlotte Rivet, Susan Sheridan, Susan Bennett (represented by her delicious pasta!), Jolanta Tipler and Zee Van Norman all worked extremely hard to provide such a great luncheon, and Jane Schramel's floral arrangement was so colorful! .

Our newest member is Colleen Schenck, (husband Michael), so please add her name and contact information to your yearbook.
